Brazilian Muslims advocate Islam in Rio

RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 12 (MNA) – A number of Muslim men and women in Brazil are actively inviting visitors to convert to Islam at the entrance of the Rio Olympic Village.

On a daily basis, these Muslims get engaged in promoting and explaining Islam and Islamic law, answering questions and inviting sport-lovers to turn to

Jamila da Lima, who converted to Islam a few years ago and tasted the sweetness of being a Muslim, is sparing no effort in introducing Islam to non-Muslims and inviting them to the beneficent religion.

“During the Olympic Games, along with my Muslim friends, we spread brochures to introduce Islam’s views on various issues, including women, and respond to people’s questions to resolve their uncertainties,” underlined Jamila.

Islam's view of Christianity, introducing the Quran and the Islamic centers of Brazil are among the topics advertised in brochures distributed the people and visitors at the 2016 Olympic site.

The Muslim lady noted that majority of visitor’s questions revolve around halal and haram food which are all answered carefully and patiently.

She underscored that nearly two million Muslims are currently residing in Brazil with shortage of halal meat being one of the major problems faced by them.
